Assam, with its suitable agro-climatic conditions, is known for cultivating jute.
Bihar is the second largest jute production state. Bihar is an important state for jute production, with a significant contribution to the national output.
West Bengal is the largest jute producing state of India. West Bengal contributes significantly to the overall jute production of the country. Approximately 60 percent of the total world produce of jute is cultivated in India.
