1. Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake 

The largest rattlesnake in the US with a diamond pattern, found in the southeastern states. 

2. Western Diamondback Rattlesnake 

Has a diamond pattern and black and white bands near its tail, common in the southwestern US. 

3. Timber Rattlesnake 

Features dark bands on a yellow or gray background, found in the eastern and central US. 

4. Mojave Rattlesnake 

Known for very strong venom, lives in deserts in the southwestern US. 

5. Copperhead 

Has a copper-red head and hourglass-shaped markings, found in the eastern and central US. 

6. Cottonmouth 

Also called the water moccasin, it has a white inside of its mouth and lives near water in the southeastern US. 

7. Coral Snake 

Brightly colored with red, yellow, and black bands, found in the southeastern US. 

8. Prairie Rattlesnake 

Greenish-brown with lighter patterns, found in the central US and the Great Plains.
